ABSTRACT
The article provides an economic analysis on electronic books (e-books) conducted by the Association of American Publishers in the U.S. It cites the $164.5 million net sales decline in adult hardcover category which fell 13.9%, $95.4 million net sales for adult paperback, and $58.8 million net sales of adult mass market. It also mentions the 108.3% net sales of electronic books in November 2008 which totaled $5.1 million due to Oprah's recommendation of Kindle 1.0 from Amazon Co.
