ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the successful redevelopment of the 55-story Bank of America Plaza in Los Angeles, California. The author indicates that when Brookfield Properties acquired Trizec Properties Inc. in 2006, it proceeded to improve the energy efficiency and overall operation of the building. The building received Energy Star certification in late 2008. Moreover, one of the major steps in the improvement is the installation of a new energy-management system (EMS).
