ABSTRACT
The article offers information on the carbon offset program of the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), which aims to have a net zero effect on the environmental developments in Long Island, New York. The program allows businesses and individuals to neutralize the carbon dioxide produced from purchasing carbon offsets. Gwen Ruta, vice president of corporate partnership at EDF, notes that the program had to achieve emission reductions with sound methodologies and practices in order to be selected.
