ABSTRACT
This article reports on the opening of a new studio in Austin, Texas by casual games web site Pogo.com. Pogo Austin will join EA's Bioware studio. EA bought Pogo in 2001 for $40 million. Pogo.com offers free advertising-supported games, ranging from puzzle games to arcade and sports games. Also, Pogo offers players a chance to join Club Pogo by paying a subscription fee. Pogo general manager Andrew Pedersen expressed his excitement about the new office. Pogo's other studios are located in Redwood City, California and Shanghai, China.
