ABSTRACT
This article reports on the increase in earnings of Google for the third quarter in 2008 despite the declining U.S. economy. Google's revenue has increased by 31 percent, while net income has increased by 8 percent compared to the same period in the previous year. According to Google chief executive officer (CEO) Eric Schmidt, people are moving toward more targeted advertising. It has achieved a net income of $1.35 billion on sales of $5.54 billion. Its shares gained $28.42 to $381.44 in after-hours trading.
