ABSTRACT

The company posted second quarter declines in revenue, net income and earnings per share, attributed to the weak economy in the U.S. It also has plans to lay off as many as 5,000 employees. The company said the cutbacks would cut its yearly operating expense run rate by about $1.5 billion.
