ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the economic stimulus bill under development by the administration of U.S. President-elect Barack Obama. It is stated that the bill includes provisions for a national renewable electricity standard. The bill, which is expected to pass the U.S. Congress in February 2009, could be for as much as $800 billion and is expected to contain at least some clean technology provisions. It also has provisions for investments in schools relating to energy efficiency and an extension of the production tax credit.
