ABSTRACT
The article reports on the financial performance of Alibaba.com, Yahoo's Chinese affiliate, in fourth quarter ended September 2008. It posted a net profit of 308.6 million yuan during the period. It had posted a profit increase of 159 percent in the last quarter, when earnings were boosted by interest income from its successful initial public offering (IPO), led by Chairman Jack Ma.
