ABSTRACT
The article reports on the rising influence of the liberal think tank Center for American Progress (CAP) as the neoconservative think tank American Enterprise Institute finds itself in the political wilderness. Policies devised by CAP scholars have helped shape U.S. President Barack Obama's agenda. CAP president John Podesta co-chaired the Democrat's presidential transition, and more than a dozen CAP scholars have been appointed to senior-level posts in the new administration.
