ABSTRACT
The article discusses U.S. President Barack Obama and how he may choose to handle suspected terrorists who are being held in American prisons. Ali Saleh Kahlah al-Marri is a suspected member of Al Qaeda who is being held in a South Carolina military prison but he has never been tried for his alleged crimes. Al-Marri's lawyer is Jonathan Hafetz, who will bring the case before the U.S. Supreme Court in April 2009. Obama's reaction to the case will set the precedent for future U.S. policy.
