The article presents information on a survey of both wheeled and tracked armoured vehicles in the 10-30-tonne range. As stated, General Dynamics-Mowag Piranha V won the British Ministry of Defence "Trials of Truth" competition in May 2008 for Utility Vehicle (UV) of the Future Rapid Effects System (Fres). It is noted that the Piranha V is only on papers so the actual winner was the Piranha Evolution or the Piranha IV. The alternative is reported to be two vehicles already in production which includes the Arctec Boxer and the Nexter VBCI.
