ABSTRACT
The article reports on an investigation of the British National Health Service primary care trusts (PCTs) by the journal "GP." According to the journal, practice-based commissioning (PBC) has delivered savings of up to £6 million in some PCTs. However, more than a third of PCTs failed to identify any savings at all. Twenty percent of PCTs made savings of £1 million or more through PBC.
