Acceptance Marks Major Milestone For National Security Cutter Bertholf

The article offers information on Bertholf, the first ship of eight scheduled to be build in the new Legend class of multimission National Security Cutters (NSCs) for the U.S. Coast Guard. The NSC has greater patrol endurance which has 60 to 90-day patrol cycles than current Coast Guard cutters. It also has more powerful weapons, such as Mk110 57mm main gun. Additionally, it features a larger flight deck and chemical-biological and radiological environmental hazard detection and defense.
