Discusses the challenge of converting academic journals from standard printing methods to electronic preprint, or e-print. Challenges involved in the conversion of scholarly journals, including the authentication of materials; Support of a pre-print server at ChemWeb, Inc.'s Internet site; Software developed by the University of Southampton that may allow easier archiving of e-print journals.
