ABSTRACT
The article presents an overview of pharmaceutical research and development and the marketing process in the U.S. It highlights the clinical trial process, pharmacoeconomic studies, marketing life cycle, product promotion strategies as well as major pharmaceutical distribution channels. It reveals that pharmacoeconomic studies have become significant tools in development and marketing, while promotion strategies are available for marketing a pharmaceutical product.
