ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the "Annual Sales Force Effectiveness Study," conducted by Hay Group Inc. which found that the base salary for pharmaceutical sales representatives has continued to rise in 2008 in the U.S. It revealed that pharmaceutical companies continue to change the formula for compensation, placing higher emphasis on performance against targets and market share. It also found that representatives are less likely to leave their current positions voluntarily.
