ABSTRACT
The article compares the economic stimulus plan of U.S. Republican Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina with that of Democratic President Barack Obama as of January 2009. According to House Republican Leader John Boehner, the spending plan of House Democrats will cost every household $6,700 in debt. Boehner also cites projects which appear like more of the pork-barrel, special-interest, big-government plans than a stimulus package. The economic recovery plan of the senator will demand for a 10-percentage-point reduction in the top tax rate.
