Call for new council on professional skills

The article reports that eight institutes representing the business and management professions have called on the government to set up a professional skills council to improve the supply of high-level qualifications. Charles Tilley, chairman of the Consultative Committee for Professional Management Organisations (CCPMO), said that a professional skills council was needed to streamline relationships between the 25 sector skills councils (SSC) and the professional institutes, and to help to identify the gaps and shortages.
