ABSTRACT
The article features Specialist Michael A. Kurpil, the first mountain bike racer to be sponsored by the U.S. Army. Kurpil has joined events such as the Triple Bypass, the Good Samaritan Bike Jam and the New York MS Ride Event. Kurpil trained under four-time pro-world champion endurance racer Nat Ross for the 2008 season. Kurpil relates that he has been offered sponsorships by various race teams but it is the greatest honor to represent the U.S. Army and to wear its colors.
