ABSTRACT
By applying combination of mechanochemical and thermal treatment important materials that could be used in sensor and semiconductor technology as well in catalysis are obtained. High energy ball milling was applied to prepare powder samples by treating mixture consisted a) of Cu and ammonium exchanged zeolite A and b) of CuO and ammonium exchanged zeolite A. According to X-ray powder diffraction the mechanical treatment resulted in mixture of amorphous phase and low size crystal particles. After 3 h of milling the samples were isothermally treated at the appropriate temperature yielding crystalline mixtures with a dominant phase of CuAlO2. Thermal treatment of Cu-exchanged zeolite A resulted in a crystalline sample with dominant phase CuAl2O4.

In order to synthesize Na-X zeolite from coal fly ash (Fa), Fa was pretreated under stirring condition at various temperatures of 20–50°C for 72 h and then aged at 85°C for a given period with NaOH solutions. The resulting materials were characterized by various means. When Fa was...

By measuring the ion concentration in a pressure-induced infiltration experiment on a hydrophobic Zeolite Socony Mobil-5, it is found that the nanopore wall has a strong ion repelling effect. Alkali-treatment for modification or dissolution has attracted extensive attention as an innovative means of preparing porous materials. The hierarchical porosity of modified zeolite is highly dependent on its treatment conditions. However, studies on critical alkali-treatment concentrations,...

The distribution of copper- and nickel-containing components in the pore space of HZSM-5 zeolite was quantitatively studied. The article presents information on heulandite. Heulandite is perhaps the most common zeolite. It is always in elongated tabular crystals, to 1 inch in length but usually smaller. Its physical properties are characterized as white, reddish and yellowish. It composes hydrous sodium, calcium and...

The article presents information on natrolite. Natrolite has typical zeolite associations. Slender needles make sprays of long, prismatic, often very slender, square needle crystals, ending in what resembles the low four-faced pyramid expected on a tetragonal crystal. It is very brittle (needles...
