ABSTRACT
The article offers a competency narrative checklist for a successful job application. Competency refers to a set of performance behaviours, such as characteristics leading to superior performance at work. It is also said to be a combination of know-how, skills, attitude and demonstrated behaviours. The mini-narratives approach to job application is all about lining up an applicant's experience and achievements in a structured way.
