The article reports on the smart investments of venture capitalist Timothy Draper, owner of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. Draper's venture include Chinese search service Baidu and free personal computer phone service Skype. The two ventures highlighted in the company's press materials and since late 2000 the firm raised an estimated $3 billion for traditional high-technology investments and forays into new markets like Brazil and India.
