The article reports on the impact of the economic crisis on the 400-strong movie animation staff of Imagi Animation Studios in Hong Kong, China. The workers of Imagi who worked for the Japanese comic film "Astro Boy" had no clue in mid-November 2008 that they were about to lose their jobs. Regardless of economic slowdown, the investors are developing animation works to the Hong Kong staff for workers are performing the most labor-intensive work in terms of animation.
