ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the outlook for commercial development in Las Vegas, Nevada within the next decade following the completion of several hotel-casino projects in late 2008 as well as in 2009 and 2010. It mentions that Wynn Resorts Ltd. has opened the $2.3 billion Encore megaresort on December 22, 2008, while the $9.1 billion CityCenter of MGM Mirage is slated to open at the end of 2009. According to Macquarie Capital gaming analyst Joel Simkins, Las Vegas will never see another CityCenter due to the magnitude and complexity of the development.
