MGM Mirage delays part of CityCenter

The article reports on the postponement of the construction of the Harmon Hotel & Spa, one of the components of the CityCenter development, by MGM Mirage in Las Vegas, Nevada until 2010. The construction of the condominium component of the Harmon will be canceled. CityCenter chief executive officer (CEO) Bobby Baldwin stated that the cancellation will allow the company to avoid the need for substantial redesign of the Harmon. CityCenter will also defer about $200 million in construction costs by postponing the project by one year.
