Vision Systems Ensure Quality of Medical Devices

This article provides information on several machine devices that use vision systems to ensure their quality. A needle inspection system at the B. Braun Medical Inc. assembly plant in Penang, Malaysia is equipped with a high-resolution vision system that inspects more than 60 different needle assemblies ranging from 25 to 100 millimeters in length. Another medical assembler uses a pair of smart cameras to inspect dialysis filters. A vision system is being used by an assembler of hearing aid batteries to check multipacks from missing or extra product.
