ABSTRACT
The article reports on El Paso baseball club's eventful and dynamic events of 1951. The Arizona-Texas and Sunset Leagues merged to form the new 10-club Southwest International League. With the merger, the teams endured long bus trips from Tijuana to El Paso and Juarez and vice versa. In its home base, El Paso drew 7,344 spectators and finished 3rd overall in the season after it lost to Juarez. The season also marked the debut of El Paso top players such as Ramon "Pinky" Vargas, Diamond Cecil and Hector Mayer.
