The article focuses on the organized retail crime (ORC) in the U.S. ORC results in billions of yearly losses in retailers and consider it as their most significant security problem. ORC is said to be a coordinated theft of huge quantities of retail merchandise and sold to black markets or at the Internet and flea markets. Several legislations are introduced to address the problem such as the "Combating Organized Retail Crime Act of 2008."
