The article presents information about the development of information literacy programs in German educational institutions' libraries. It is noted that German written contributions to the study of information literacy are limited to practical experience reports rather than academic publications of empirical research. Issues discussed in the article include library literacy, media literacy, computer literacy, and information literacy.
