ABSTRACT
The article presents information on the Adaptiv risk management software of SunGard Systems to replace a system at a financial firm with large positions in credit risk. A survey of clients showed that they agree that the system did what they were asked to do. As stated, many institutions placed a lot of emphasis on regular value at risk (VaR) and back testing and not enough on stress-testing. It is noted that financial services are revamping risk management in the period of intense pressure in information technology (IT) spending.
