ABSTRACT
The article discusses a report released by the nonprofit evaluator Charity Navigator, focusing on the zero-star rating which it assigned to the activities of the T.J. Martell Foundation. Known in the entertainment industry for its gala awards shows, which raise money for cancer and AIDS research, the foundation was given a low score for spending 36 cents out of every dollar it raised, more than twice as much as some similar charities.
