ABSTRACT
The article reports on a study from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health which found that older adolescents who have a television (TV) in their bedrooms are less likely to exercise, eat healthy foods and take part in family meals. As part of the Project Eating Among Teens study, a group of 781 teens from diverse backgrounds reported their TV-viewing habits, study habits, grades, diets, exercise habits and family engagement. About two-thirds of them with a TV in their bedroom watched up to five more hours of TV per week.
