ABSTRACT
The article provides information on the need for an alternative life style among Europeans and Americans in the light of the energy crisis. It discusses the directions of change as a result of this reformed lifestyle. It features the author's experience of the alternative lifestyle in Bucharest, Romania. It describes Bucharest as a consumer society and cites authority as the bond of Romanian unity. Moreover, it explores the author's idea that Romania is a big novitiate.
