ABSTRACT
The article presents results of an analysis of the first 100 patients enrolled in the medical records systems at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Henry S. Plummer was dissatisfied with the original record system so he developed a new more effective system that facilitates better education and patient care. It is stated that his contribution to the modern medical record system is one of the most important and longest-lasting contribution to patient care in medicine's history.
