ABSTRACT
The article discusses the proposed resource management plan for 1.7 million acres of public land in Vernal, Utah. The U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has spent seven years, millions of dollars and 584 pages to lay out the document which ensures the that the area will be governed primarily as a natural gas field. The BLM contains inadequate air-quality assessments to justify new resource management plans that allows to expand the energy development in Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico. However, Vernal's ozone level had reached to alarming high levels which causes noxious haze to cause asthma attacks and other respiratory problems.
