The article focuses on the internal program initiated by Turret Steel Industries and Sunbelt-Turret Steel Inc. to aid struggling domestic automakers. Both companies have offered a cash incentive for employees purchasing or leasing new American-made cars or trucks. They can receive up to $750. President Wayne Gould says that encouraging employees to buy American cars and trucks makes sense and the purchase of fuel-efficient vehicles means fewer dollars going through oil interests.
