ABSTRACT
The article provides information on the study made by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on private fee-for-service plans (PFFS). It cites that the report tries to compare PFFS plans to Medicare fee-for-service (FFS) in three aspects which are the characteristics of the beneficiaries, financial risks for beneficiaries, and disenrollment. GAO urges the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to delve on the business operation of PFFS to ensure safety for the beneficiaries.
