ABSTRACT
The article reports on the response of cable television industry on the switch of TV stations to digital as a marketing strategy to influence subscribers in signing up for extra services. It explores the plan of National Cable and Telecommunications Associations (NCTA) together with major U.S. cable operators to stop moving their channels from analog to digital tiers during January and February 2009. It also presents the channel migration freeze and rules from Federal Communications Commission.
