ABSTRACT
The article discusses several court cases related to personnel management in Great Britain. The Cumbria County Council versus Dow case concerns an equal pay claim in which the intention of parties overrides implied intentions. In the Okonu versus G4S Security Services (UK) Ltd. case, the burden of proof was not shifted to the employer as the claim for race discrimination cannot be based on nationality and colour. The ruling for the Wright versus Weed Control Ltd. case upheld damages for breach of mutual trust and confidence.
