ABSTRACT
The author focuses on the proposal of U.S. Representative Louie Gohmert for a tax holiday as an approach to start the nation's economic recovery. He states that the government has agreed to a $15 billion bailout for automakers General Motors (GM), Ford and Chrysler. He notes that the plan of Gohmert is an improvement over a United Automobile Workers (UAW) bailout and bank bailout. He also mentions that based on the results of a poll, 61% of respondents oppose the automobile industry bailout.
