ABSTRACT
The article reports that the U.S. Urban Park and Recreation Recovery Program (UPARR) is at risk due to a lack of government funding since 2001. The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) continues to educate members of the U.S. Congress on the importance of urban parks for public health and at-risk youth. It will also work with Congress to modernize the program.
