ABSTRACT
The article discusses how Switzerland prepared for the world financial crisis by making its industries open to competition, setting its own interest rates, and by flooding the money market to keep interest rates low. Because the country reacted quickly to the crisis, they had less need for an economic stimulus plan, and were able to design a bank bailout for their own bank, UBS AG.
