ABSTRACT
The article reports on the closing of seven La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries after liquidation sales that started in December 12, 2008 in Detroit, Michigan. The author stated that the initiative has been due to the economic state of Michigan, declining consumer confidence and the postponable nature of discretionary furniture purchases. Meanwhile, the La-Z-Boy stores in Lansing and Grand rapids led by Paul Opfermann will remain open as well as the store in Kalamazoo.
