ABSTRACT
The article reports on how to handle joints in a concrete slab when installing the commercial flooring. Concrete joints are going to keep moving long after the structure is occupied with fast-track construction and a lack of environmental controls. It is also reported that joints provide relief from the tensile stresses. Also, wherever complete freedom of vertical and horizontal movement is required between the floor and adjoining building elements, isolation or expansion joints should be used.
