The article presents information on the financial performance of Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd., created by V. Prem Watsa. Fairfax was up 30% on the New York Stock Exchange, from $216 to $281 during October 31, 2008. Its earnings per share increased from $12 in 2006 to $58 in 2007 and to $35 in the first half of 2008 despite oppositions from short-sellers. Watsa graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology in India did his management degree from the University of Western Ontario.
