ABSTRACT
The author focuses on the medical crisis in southern Chad. She notes that the media has directed its attention to the western-Sudanese refugees in Eastern Chad and neglected the displaced refugees in southern Chad. She mentions that malaria stands as the largest health threat in the region in which about 80% of consultations to camp health clinics between May to October 2008 are for the disease. She adds that many patients have to be content with chloroquine or Fansider medication when supplies of artemisinin-based combination therapy (ACT) run out.
