The article addresses the organizational problem of employees idling or tending to personal businesses while at work. According to a survey conducted by executive staffing service Robert Half International Inc., employees spend about three hours a week doing nonwork-related tasks. Robert Half International regional vice president in Las Vegas, Craig Kapper, suggests ways to solve the problem such as creating awareness by communicating it to the employees, imposing rules on Internet and cell phone usage and taking disciplinary action in case of violation.
