ABSTRACT
The article reports that Dow Chemical Co.'s Dow Elastomers unit is changing the way it develops its products and takes them to market by opening a suggestion box to its customers. The project is known as Voice of the Customer (VOC). According to Clint Schmidt, market development manager at the company, she wants to understand the polymer needs of each market segment. Schmidt said that the VOC project resulted from a desire to challenge the company's research and development (R&D).
