ABSTRACT
The article discusses the views of Mark Emkes, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Bridgestone Americas Holding Inc., on the impact of ongoing financial crises on the U.S. rubber and plastics industry. He said that when market conditions are tough, as they are now in many parts of the tire and rubber industry, it is important that companies stick to their fundamentals. He added that patience is another thing tire companies need to exercise.
