ABSTRACT
The article provides an overview of a research report by John C. Dencker entitled "Corporate restructuring and sex differences in managerial production," which focused on the status of women executives during corporate restructurings or when companies change their managerial performance evaluation systems through an examination of a Fortune 500 company. Dencker found that while women tended to be hired at lower ranks and at lower salaries than men, women's promotion rates stayed the same or increased when advancement opportunities were low or when a different performance management system was implemented.
